Daily Grind: Bluff’s new layout, Ivey divorce ruling and more
Every day the poker world is inundated with more news, reports, and gossip, than any of us can read. At PokerNewsBoy.com we understand that there are only so many hours in the day, and only so much time you can set aside to follow all of the stories taking place, so we have come up with the Daily Grind as a solution. The Daily Grind will make sure you don’t miss any of the more obscure poker stories, wrapping up the day in poker in one neat, concise, column.
Today I’ll take a look at a number of stories including a new website design for Bluff Magazine, Phil Ivey’s ex-wife loses her case, and a satirical Daily Grind article by an “Onion-esque” poker website.
Bluff Magazine has a new online layout
There are some big cosmetic changes over at www.bluff.com as the popular online poker news portal has a new look and design. Gone is the dominant black theme, replaced by a crisper white background, and an easier to navigate homepage.
Bluff is perhaps best-known for its tournament rankings, handing out its own Player of the Year award as well as providing the algorithms for the World Series of Poker Player of the Year award. Bluff is also one of the top online sites for tournament coverage, covering a variety of mid-level tournament series across the world, as well as major tournaments like the WPT and EPT. Among the staff and contributors at Bluff Magazine are Paul Oresteen, Dave Behr, and Kevin Mathers.
BonusCodePoker.com offering up some Onion-inspired poker news
If you are in search of a satirical look of the goings on in the world of poker might I suggest the website bonuscodepoker.com. Perhaps my favorite farcical article to this point is the site’s poke at columns like our Daily Grind (which you’re reading now) called the “Weekly Five-Bet Hyper Turbo Gssp & Run”, or the “WFBHTG&R” for short. http://bonuscodepoker.com/poker-news-march28-raymer-wsop-zoom
Basically these articles are similar to what the Onion does to mainstream news, and they are done very well. Right now there are enough Fake News articles to keep you busy for a couple hours, and hopefully the site keeps churning them out.

Phil Ivey’s ex loses divorce case petition
After learning about some questionable campaign contributions made by Phil Ivey and his lawyer to the judge in her divorce case, the former Mrs. Phil Ivey decided to file a petition claiming she was treated unfairly in the 2009 divorce proceedings. Last Friday a judgment was finally handed down, with the Nevada Supreme Court ruling against Luciaetta Ivey, leaving the original divorce agreement (which was uncontested at the time) in place.
Here is a look at the ruling which was obtained by the Las Vegas Review-Journal: http://www.reviewjournal.com/sites/default/files/field/files/IVEY_DIVORCE_RULING.pdf
