Daily Grind: ISPT and Red Bull, #TeamSpa patches, and more
Every day the poker world is inundated with more news, reports, and gossip, than any of us can read. At PokerNewsBoy.com we understand that there are only so many hours in the day, and only so much time you can set aside to follow all of the stories taking place, so we have come up with the Daily Grind as a solution. The Daily Grind will make sure you don’t miss any of the more obscure poker stories, wrapping up the day in poker in one neat, concise, column.
Today I’ll take a look at a number of stories including the ISPT getting a pretty big mainstream partner, a new group of patched-up players at the WSOP, and a Caesars Seven-Star host apparently doling out some bad information.
Red Bull teaming up with the ISPT
Since Dusk Till Dawn took over the handling of the ISPT Wembley tournament the event has gone from utter turmoil to attracting legitimate sponsors, the latest of which is Red Bull. According to PokerNews.com Red Bull will be the official drink of the ISPT thanks to their exclusive partnership:
“Both pioneers in their domain, Red Bull and the International Stadiums Poker Tour are natural partners,” mentioned the press release on the partnership. “Red Bull has always supported extreme sports events, and ISPT is making history by bringing together thousands of players from all over the world for the first ever live poker tournament in Wembley Stadium. Boldness, bravery and the will to collectively raise the bar and succeed have united Red Bull and ISPT for this unique event.”
For more information on the upcoming ISPT tournament series (yes it’s a full tournament series now) you can head on over to the www.ISPT.com website.
@AsianSpa WSOP patches have arrived
There will be several poker players and media credentialed people at the 2013 World Series of Poker sporting a new patch thanks to anonymous poker Truth Speaker @AsianSpa, who sent out his #TeamSpa patches this week, one of which landed in this author’s mailbox yesterday [See Pic].
As I won’t be in attendance for the WSOP my TeamSpa patch will be worn at my remote-WSOP-reporting-headquarters (AKA my home office) but keep a look out for all #SpaApproved WSOP news on my Twitter feed throughout the WSOP.
WSOP.com rumors prove to be unfounded
It appears that rumors of an imminent launch of the WSOP.com real-money Nevada website were incorrect, and it also appears that the “inside source” for first Todd Witteles and later a Cardschat.com poster was an over-exuberant Seven-Star host. Witteles was the first to report that an “inside source” had given him a heads-up that the WSOP.com website would be ready prior to the WSOP, and the same rumor later hit the CardsChat forum with the poster claiming his Seven-Star host told him this information –Witteles is also a Seven-Star Club Member.
