Daily Grind: SWC traffic boost, Raymer talks and more

Poker News BoyEvery day the poker world is inundated with more news, reports, and gossip, than any of us can read. At PokerNewsBoy.com we understand that there are only so many hours in the day, and only so much time you can set aside to follow all of the stories taking place, so we have come up with the Daily Grind as a solution. The Daily Grind will make sure you don’t miss any of the more obscure poker stories, wrapping up the day in poker in one neat, concise, column.

Today I’ll take a look at a number of stories including Bitcoin poker site Seals With Clubs recent traffic gain, Greg Raymer sort of talking about his recent arrest, and Lucille Cailly joining Team Ivey Poker.

Seals With Clubs comes back stronger after ddos attack

Normally the idea of a cyber-attack and a two-day shutdown would be off-putting to poker players, but this was not the case with the recent ddos attack perpetrated on the Bitcoin poker room Seals With Clubs. Following a two-day shutdown the site came back online and saw traffic numbers increase according to www.pokerscout.com, which could possibly be due to the publicity the attack brought the site, or it may be because Bitcoins are at an all-time high, recently trading for something like $100 each recently.

Lucille Cailly joins IveyPoker.com

I’m not sure which the better job is, being a backup quarterback in the NFL or a sponsored pro at IveyPoker.com. At the moment both jobs seem to come with some nice benefits and require very little actual work… We’ll see if that changes when IveyPoker.com launches in the near future.

The latest poker player to receive an Ivey Poker sponsorship is 2012 European Poker Tour (EPT) Grand Final runner-up Lucille Cailly. Cailly joined Ivey Poker last week, becoming the fifth woman inked by the site (out of 32 players) and the first member of Team Ivey Poker from France.

Greg Raymer talks about recent arrest

Some people say that in life, timing is everything. This may or may not be true, but for Greg Raymer timing certainly came into play when he accepted an AMA (Ask Me Anything) request from the poker forum FlopTurnRiver.com just weeks before his arrest during a North Carolina Prostitution sting. Raymer kept his word and started the AMA thread, but he also nipped any arrest questions in the bud, stating:

“Thanks for coming to my AMA here on www.FlopTurnRiver.com! I will be answering many of the questions posted in this thread during the next hour. Sorry if I don’t get to your question, not enough time to answer them all. I know that many of you are curious about my arrest a couple of weeks ago, and want to know more. I appreciate your questions and your interest, but I am still at a point in the process where my lawyers have advised me to not answer most questions on that subject.

What I would like to say is that I am very sorry for the pain and suffering I’ve caused my wife, daughter, and family, as well as for any disappointment or difficulties I’ve caused to my friends and fans. Also, I appreciate very much the words of support and encouragement received from many of you. Now let’s talk about poker!”
