Day 1a of EPT London attracts 339 poker players

As London continues to dominate the poker world’s headlines the European Poker Tour rolled into town and put up a very big number on Day 1a of the EPT London Main Event. A total of 339 players registered for the first of two Day 1 flights, and the tournament is easily within reach of breaking its own UK attendance record that was set last year.

Of the original 339 players only 146 of them survived the day including Barry Shulman, Greg Raymer, John Juanda, Arnaud Mattern, Allen Cunningham, and Vanessa Rousso. Some of the big names that fell by the wayside on Day 1a of the tournament were Vanessa Selbst, Carlos Mortensen, Erik Seidel, Roland de Wolfe, and Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier.

Here is a look at the top 10 chip counts coming out of Day 1a of the EPT London tournament:

2.    Konstantin Bucherl  — 187,900
3.    Thomas Bichon  — 185,000
4.    John O’Shea  — 184,400
5.    Joep van den Bijgaart  — 167,600
6.    Dominique Franchi  — 152,800
7.    Adrian Bussman  — 152,700
8.    Craig Stevens  — 149,300
9.    Steven Levy  — 145,400
10.    Daniel Da Silva Pacheco  — 144,900
