Day 2 of the PokerStars EPT Prague is in the books
With the two starting fields combined for Day 2 of the PokerStars European Poker Tour Main Event in Prague all of the remaining players were looking up at chip-leader Dirk Richter, who entered the day with a massive lead.
254 players returned to the tournament section at the Prague Hilton and by the end of the day only 93 were still standing. Still out in front –although with far less of a chip lead– is the German Dirk Richter, who managed to bag and tag an impressive 593,000 chips at the end of Day 2.
Three top European players also had strong runs on Day 2 to finish in the top five chip-counts: Robert Romanello, EPT Berlin winner Kevin MacPhee, and Dutch PLO specialist Rob Hollink; further back in the field are poker pros Luca Pagano, Matt Affleck, Melanie Weisner, Fabrice Soulier, Toby Lewis, and Marcin Horecki. Here is a look at the top 10 chip counts heading into Day 3 of the tournament:
1. Dirk Richter 593,000
2. Roberto Romanello 566,000
3. Antonio Palma 545,000
4. Kevin MacPhee 483,000
5. Rob Hollink 452,000
6. Denis Kipnis 384,000
7. Josh Prager 362,500
8. Drasutis Tauras Narmontas 334,000
9. Tobias Reinkemeier 325,000
10. David Stogel 314,500
The money bubble should burst early on Day 3 as only 80 of the remaining 93 players will make the money, but I’m sure most players are eyeing the €640,000 that will go to the winner of the tournament.
