ElkY headlines final table of Event #4 at WSOPE
Day 2 of the €3,200 NLHE Shootout saw 30 players return for their Round 2 matches, which would be played 3-handed in order to insure a full table of 10 for Thursday’s final table. The 3-handed tables made for a quick day, and even with players like Freddy Deeb, Terrence Chan, and Vanessa Selbst falling by the wayside, this will likely be one of the tougher final tables at the 2011 WSOPE.
Making it through to the final table were many familiar names in the poker world –especially if you are familiar with the top online poker players in the world:
* James Dempsey
* Richard Toth
* Taylor Paur
* Tristan Wade
* Max Silver
* John Armbrust
* Emil Patel
* Steve O’Dwyer
* Michael Watson
* Bertrand Grospellier
Obviously the bulk of the attention will be on Bertrand “ElkY” Grosspellier, who has already had a big year on the tournament trail –winning his first WSOP bracelet this summer and completing the Triple Crown in the process—and is looking to challenge for a number of Player of the Year awards and take over the top position on the Global Poker Index.
That said, the path to bracelet #2 is by no means an easy one for ElkY, as he will have to contend with some of the top young poker players in the world at Thursday’s final table, including Online Player of the Year contender Taylor Paur, Mike “SirWatts” Watson, 2010 bracelet winner james Dempsey, Emil “Whitelime” Patel, Richard Toth, and Tristan Wade.
