EPT sets record: 420 players enter Estonia event

The European Poker Tour has made a living setting attendance records in virtually every country they hold a poker tournament in, and this week was no different. This time the record fell in the poker hotbed of Estonia, where a total of 420 players entered the Championship Event over two days.

The total prize-pool for the €4,000 buy-in poker tournament eclipsed the €1.5 million mark, and the winner of the tournament will walk away with a hefty €400,000 chunk of the total prize-money. In all 56 players will make the money,

210 players survived Day 1 play, with the following players topping the leader-board headed into Day 2:
1. Perica Bukara (Serbia) — 210,600
2. Ali Tekintamgac (Germany) — 203,200
3. Matvey Linov (Russia) — 193,400
4. Santiago Terrazas (Spain) — 176,300
5. Mattias Jorstedt (Sweden) — 147,800
6. Volodymyr Pilyavsky (Ukraine) — 147,600
7. Jonathan Weekes (United Kingdom) — 145,400
8. Daniel Aldridge (United States) — 141,000
9. Oleksandr Vaserfirer (Ukraine) — 136,900
10. Artem Litvinov (Russia) — 134,500

Some of the big names still alive and kicking include professional poker players Steven van Zadelhoff with 111,700 chips, Luca Pagano with 124,900, Arnaud Mattern with 103,600, Ivan Demidov with 80,100 and Scott Montgomery with 74,700 and in the next few days it will be decided which of the players had the best Poker Strategy to win the EPT in Estonia.
