Full Tilt expands roster adding Isildur1 and durrrr
Gus Hansen’s lonely days as the only sponsored player on the Full Tilt Poker roster are now over as Full Tilt Poker announced the “Great Dane” will be joined by two of online poker’s legends: Viktor “Isildur1” Blom and Tom “durrrr” Dwan. The signings come on the heels of Full Tilt announcing its repayment process and revamped VIP Rewards Program.
Hansen was signed as the first Full Tilt Poker ambassador after PokerStars rescued the failed site from the scrapheap, and with a November 6th relaunch date approaching the site is putting the finishing touches on the “new” Full Tilt Poker, and now has three of the biggest names in poker as the faces of the company.
Dwan, like Hansen, was a member of Team Full Tilt Poker and an equity owner in the site before the collapse after Black Friday. Since Full Tilt Poker went offline Dwan has been busy in the ultra-high-stakes games in Macau, but it appears “durrrr” will be back at his rightful place at the nosebleed tables on FTP when the site relaunches.
Dwan had this to say regarding his new relationship with Full Tilt Poker, “I’m very excited that Full Tilt Poker is relaunching. I think it is great for poker and I’m excited to be a part of it.”
Full Tilt Poker’s Head of Marketing Sarne Lightman added, “Tom is one of the most feared and respected players in the world today. His exploits at the Full Tilt Poker tables generated a huge following in the poker community and we are thrilled to bring that action back for our players.”
Blom came to fame at the Full Tilt Poker tables in late 2009, going on a multi-million-dollar heater before losing it all back in the span of a month. He later signed with PokerStars, but was let go earlier this year, just after the deal that saw PokerStars take over Full Tilt Poker was announced –leading many to rightly guess that he would soon be signed as Full Tilt Poker pro.
On joining Full Tilt Poker Blom said, “I always loved playing on the Full Tilt Poker software, it is where I made my name and enjoyed some of my greatest victories. When they approached me about joining the team I knew this was the right fit for me.”
With a stable that now includes Gus Hansen, Viktor Blom, and Tom Dwan, Lightman added, “In choosing our Pros we approached the three poker players whose unique and innovative styles have had the most impact on how modern poker is played.”
