When the 2nd most heavily trafficked poker site in the world sent out an e-mail to its members it became the first major online poker room to fully back Internet poker legislation. The E-Mail sent by Full Tilt Poker directs players to a new area on the website titled “Stand Up For Poker” in which players are asked to contact their specific representatives either through e-mails, through Twitter, or by phoning their offices.

Much like the Poker Players Alliance, Full Tilt customers can quickly find their representatives contact information, and can send template style letters and e-mails. Players are greeted by a video message from Howard Lederer urging Full Tilt Poker players to contact their representatives.

Full Tilt Poker is asking its players to throw their support behind H.R. 2267, the Internet Gambling, Regulation, Consumer Protection, and Enforcement Act, which was introduced by Massachusetts Congressman Barney Frank in 2009.

H.R. 2267 would legalize and regulate online gaming, while two companion bills would rollback UIGEA legislation, and implement taxation on the online poker sites licensed in the US respectively.

The bill is still in the committee process and will likely go through numerous rewrites and changes before it is voted on by Congress.
