Historic 10th Anniversary PokerStars PCA starts this weekend
We are just days away from the 2013 tournament season, and two prominent poker tournaments are once again leading the way into a new year: The PokerStars PCA and the Aussie Millions. The best poker players from around the globe will soon be descending on the Bahamas for the PCA and then it’s a long plane-ride over to Australia for the Aussie Millions, but with millions of dollars in prize-money up for grabs the month of January has become one of the most important of the year for tournament players, rivaled only by the WSOP in June/July.
This year marks the 10th Anniversary of the popular tournament destination, and this year the PCA will feature 41 tournaments over the 10-day PCA tournament series, beginning with the $100k Super-High-Roller tournament on January 5th, and ending on January 14th, the day after the Main Event final table.
The PCA has been a hit from the outset (located in the Bahamas in January probably helps) and over the years the Main Event has seen some of the biggest names in poker raise their hands in victory. The PCA $100k Super High Roller event has also managed to attract huge fields, rivaling the Main Event in terms of first-place prize-money, and the $25k High-Roller event is yet another event the pros mark off on their calendars as a “can’t miss tournament”.
A late addition to the 2013 PCA schedule is the Open-Face Chinese Poker tournament that will take place on Monday, January 7th, the first of its kind at a major tournament.
