Jake Cody wins PokerStars SCOOP tournament
UK poker pro Jake Cody can now add another title to his growing resume which already included a WPT title and an EPT title, as the young superstar captured his first major online title yesterday by winning the $2,100 No Limit Holdem SCOOP tournament at PokerStars.
Cody started off 2011 with a win at the PokerStars UKIPT Nottingham Main Event in February, which was good for a $55,000 payday, but the SCOOP victory gives him his largest cash of the year at over $235,000. Cody’s win came in the High-buy-in tournament for Event #2, which saw a total of 621 players take to the virtual tables at PokerStars –a very good turnout considering the ban on US players not to mention the EPT Grand Finale that is running concurrently.
Here is a look at the final table payouts from Event #2 of the Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP):
1. Jake “in Y0UR F4CE” Cody – $235,738
2. Schappuscha – $172,017
3. PKaiser – $126,684
4. guyguy12 – $95,634
5. Balog23 – $67,068
6. Miss Baxter – $52,785
7. Javahound – $40,365
8. generdir – $27,945
9. Klebanov999 – $19,002.60
Each SCOOP tournament is played at three different buy-in levels, a low-limit, mid-limit, and high-limit, a format which allows more players to partake in the tournament series without having to decimate their bankrolls in the process.
