The L.A. Poker Classic (LAPC) is one of the most renowned poker tournaments in the U.S.A. The LAPC has been around for ages and poker players from all across the country make a stop at the LAPC each year, to have fun and the opportunity to win large cash prizes. This year, the LAPC is celebrating its 25^th anniversary and tournament organizers have planned a number of exciting events to commemorate its silver jubilee.

The 2018 LAPC opened its doors on January 9, 2018 and will run for a month and half before closing on March 1, 2018. During the last couple of months, poker pros across America have had to battle the cold and venturing out to play poker has been a challenging experience. Those players looking to escape the cold can head over to Los Angeles and be a part of the LAPC. Commerce Casino is playing host to the LAPC and a total of 67 exciting events will take place.

LAPC Main Event Will Be The Highlight

The highlight of the 2018 LAPC will once again be its $10,000 Main Event that has a guaranteed $1 million in prize money ready for the winner. The Main Event winner will not only receive a million dollars but also a seat to the final table of the World Poker Tour (WPT).

The Main Event has been the star attraction for the LAPC over the years as the prize money has always been over a million dollars for the winner. During the early years of the LAPC, the top poker players in the world used to make it a point to play the Main Event. The Main Event has been won by some of the most well-known poker players in the world including Gus Hansen, Phil Ivey, Antonio Esfandiari, Chris Moorman and Daniel Strelitz.

Commerce Casino Expecting Huge Turnout

The Commerce Casino has a reputation of hosting the best poker tournaments in the state. The casino is celebrating its 35^th anniversary this year and has invested heavily into giving its property a facelift. The casino has also committed to investing $60,000 into the LAPC to add more prize money to multiple events. Tournament organizers expect the 2018 edition of the LAPC to bring in a large number of players, especially to the Main Event. The casino is running a number of promotions including releasing a new logo for the 2018 LAPC.

In a statement, Joey Hernandez, who heads marketing and promotion for the Commerce Casino said “We’re not reinventing ourselves. We’re embracing who we already are: LA’s home for games of skill, pure and simple; a first-rate hotel, minutes away from the hottest spots in LA; and a welcoming environment.”

Classic Events And Old Favorites Return

The LAPC has announced that a number of classic events and old favorites that were dropped in recent times, will make their re-entry to the 2018 LAPC edition to give players a chance to experience the past and have fun on the felt. Some of the events include the $570 Escalator event, $115 Throwback Thursday event, and the $350 Social Experiment II event.
