After Black Friday online poker sites where starting t get bad press with stories coming out like the Full Tilt scandal. However, where Full Tilt had been taking money from players, Lock Poker decided to give back this Christmas.

Lock Poker heard about a small Christmas tournament getting played in a small town called Omagh in Northern Ireland. This was a one off tournament for regular players in there poker league for Christmas and had a buy-in of £100. With a total of 18 players it looked like the prizepool would be a nice £1800. But when Lock Poker heard about this, Lock decided to give back to the regulars in the poker league.

With £1800 in the prizepool it was going to be interesting night for the players who are more used to playing £10 buy-ins every week. But Lock decided to add an extra £1000 to the prizepool to take the total to £2800.

However, that isn’t where Lock stopped. The also gave away 9 Lock Poker Hoodies to every player at the final table. Which was half the field. This sent half the field going home with something extra and thanks to Lock the winners also had extra £ to take home for Christmas.

This just goes to show, even after Black Friday some online poker rooms still have a heart at Christmas and like to give some players something extra at Xmas.

In the end it was two local players in Omagh who played for the top prize of £1200, with second getting £700, (Not bad for a £100 buy-in and only 18 players). The winner ended up being Ciaran Heaney with unlucky runner up being local lass Kelly McGuire.

In total 5 players got paid from the total field. Here is what was roughly paid out:

  • 1st: £1200
  • 2nd: £700
  • 3rd: £500
  • 4th: £300
  • 5th: £100

And here is some of the pics from the event:
