Lock Poker’s Mike Mizrachi triumphs in South Africa
So far in 2013 the poker world’s attention has been drawn to the Bahamas, Australia, and now to the World Poker Tour and European Poker Tour schedules, but there are a number of other events taking place around the world as well, including the World Series of Poker Circuit Series stop in South Africa at the Emerald Casino in Gauteng. The WSOPC South Africa stop has been on the schedule for a few years now, and while not on the “must play” list, a number of poker players make the trip for the tournament and to see the sights in South Africa.
One player making the trek to South Africa this year was Lock Poker pro Mike Mizrachi, who found the Emerald Casino very much to his liking, considering he took down the WSOPC South Africa Main Event, besting the field of 116 players and adding just over $100,000 to his career tournament winnings.
Mizrachi entered the final table in 5th place on the leader-board with 344k chips, but used his experience and the aggression he has become known for to weave his way into the winner’s circle. Here is a look at how the final nine players in the tournament started the final table:
* Seat 1: Menesh Keshav – 139,000
* Seat 2: Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi – 344,500
* Seat 3: Eric Brand – 465,000
* Seat 4: Jarred Soloman – 545,500
* Seat 5: Karl Myburgh – 158,000
* Seat 6: Kenneth Morgan – 532,000
* Seat 7: Markus “Feurinho” Feurie – 726,500
* Seat 8: Warren Zackey – 342,200
* Seat 9: Kinesh Pather – 228,000
And here is a look at the complete final table payouts from the tournament:
* 1st place – Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi $101,267
* 2nd place – Karl Myburgh $62,590
* 3rd place – Markus “Feurinho” Feurie $44,565
* 4th place – Jarred Solomon $32,372
* 5th place – Kinesh Pather $23,980
* 6th place – Kenneth Morgan $18,103
* 7th place – Menesh Keshav $13,924
* 8th place – Eric Brand $10,907
* 9th place – Warren Zackey $8,696
Mizrachi is the newest addition to Lock Poker’s LockPro Elite team, joining other well known poker players like Chris Moorman, Melanie Weisner, Annette Obrestad, Eric Lynch, Paul Volpe, and Casey Jarzabek.
Mizrachi is also acting as an ambassador for the International Stadiums Poker Tour (ISPT) which is currently running satellites and six Day 1’s on Lock Poker (as well as on other sites). The ISPT Main Event is an innovative tournament format, featuring a Day 1 that will be played online, followed by a live tournament for the remaining players in early June at Wembley Stadium in London.
