Matt Jarvis wins WSOP $5k NLHE bracelet

It may not be winning the Main Event that he had a shot at taking down last year, but 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event final table participant Matt Jarvis came through with his first WSOP bracelet in the $5k No Limit Holdem tournament on Sunday.

The tournament fell prey to the Hard-Stop Rule late Saturday night, forcing Jarvis and the only man standing in his way, Justin Flitz, to return to the Rio on Sunday afternoon to battle it out for the title. Jarvis held a commanding chip-lead when the tournament was put on hold, and was able to keep the momentum on his side as he dispatched Flitz on Sunday.

Similar to 2010 WSOP Main Event champion Jonathan Duhamel, runner-up John Racener, and fellow November Niner Jason Senti, Jarvis is proving his deep-run in the Main Event wasn’t simply a decent player catching a good run of cards, and the 2010 WSOP Main Event final table may just go down as one of the best in poker history.

Here is a look at what Jarvis has accomplished since his 8th place finish in the Main Event last:

* In between making the WSOP final table and returning in November Jarvis won the Canadian Open Poker Championship Heads-Up Championship for nearly $100,000

* In October Jarvis won a $1k NLHE event at the Festa al Lago tournament series worth just under $72,000

* Jarvis can now add a WSOP bracelet to his resume after winning Event #40 at the 2011 WSOP, pocketing $808,538 in the process
