Mike Scarborough dominates WPT

Prior to the 2011 World Poker Tour Hollywood Poker Open taking place in Indiana; Mike Scarborough had a grand total of four live cashes –two of which came in last year’s Hollywood Poker Open series—but after this year’s tournament series Scarborough has now doubled his total cashes and could be on the best one week run I’ve ever seen in poker!

Scarborough started on April 3rd with a win in the $500 NLHE tournament worth $9,002, and followed this up with a win the very next day in the $300 NLHE 6-Handed tournament worth $4,799. Then on April 7th he finished in 2nd place in the $300 Deepstacks NLHE tournament worth a further $22,669! But it doesn’t end there; oh no, not at all. Now Scarborough is at the final table of the WPT Hollywood Poker Open Main Event with a shot at the $273,664 that will go to the winner of the tournament.

All Scarborough has do is beat one other unknown player –nursing an extreme short-stack—and 4 of the top poker players in the world in Hall of Fame member and 2011 hottest player Erik Seidel; 2010 Card Player POY Tom Marchese; recent WSOP Circuit champion Ali Eslami; and one of poker’s brightest young stars in William Reynolds. But considering the hot streak Scarborough is on this seems like a piece of cake!

Here is a look at the final table for the WPT Hollywood Poker Open:

·    Seat 1.  Andy Whetstone  –  80,500
·    Seat 2.  Erik Seidel  –  645,000
·    Seat 3.  Ali Eslami  –  213,000
·    Seat 4.  Tom Marchese  –  175,000
·    Seat 5.  Mike Scarborough  –  654,500
·    Seat 6.  William Reynolds  –  1,169,000
