Monday Headlines: Big Game, Black Friday turns 1 and more

Poker News BoyThis past weekend was the one-year anniversary of Black Friday, one of the blackest moments in poker history, and an event that caused a seismic shift in the current poker world. In addition to the dubious anniversary the weekend also brought a number of other headlines, including the Party Poker Big Game, the WPT Vienna Main Event, and a new lawsuit filed by a familiar group of poker players against Full Tilt Poker.

Party Poker Big Game

Class Action Suit vs. Full Tilt Poker the redux

Last year a group of poker players filed a $150 million Civil Action Suit against Full Tilt Poker. That suit was eventually dismissed after a judge in New York ruled he did not have jurisdiction over the complaint. Well, the players are back at it, this time in Las Vegas, and armed with new allegations thanks to the ongoing investigations post-Black Friday.

WPT Vienna; Denmark triumphant yet again

Denmark won its fourth major tournament in 2012, as Morten Christensen captured the WPT Vienna Main Event title. Christensen adds his name to other Danish champions in 2012 including Mickey Petersen, Jannick Wrang, and Frederick Jensen. Black Friday one-year later

It’s been a tumultuous year since Black Friday shook-up the poker world last April 15th, and since that time the poker world has been left wondering what the future holds for the online poker industry in the United States.
