Monday Headlines: ElkY wins, Annette signs, and more
It was a fairly busy weekend in the poker world, with a number of major tournaments taking place from Florida to Germany, as well as some interesting news on the sponsored player front. So without any further delay let’s take a look at the big news coming out of the poker world this weekend.
David Kitai sorta wins the Triple Crown
Belgian David Kitai emerged victorious at the EPT Berlin Main Event this weekend and while a number of poker news outlets are calling him the 5th Triple Crown winner in poker history I’m going to have to put on the breaks and say not so fast. Kitai has a WSOP bracelet, to go along with his new EPT title, and he does have a WPT win, BUT it was in an invitational event, which I don’t think should count towards the Triple Crown.

Merge cancels the LockOPS tournament series
After giving Lock Poker the go-ahead on running the LockOPS tournament series the Merge Gaming Network has decided to pull the plug on the series according to the Lock Poker Twitter account and website.
“We are sad to announce that Merge has officially cancelled LOCKOPS and revoked previous approval given to Lock to run the series.”
We’ll update you as more information becomes available.

ElkY picks up another High-Roller win
ElkY has done it again, as the Team PokerStars Pro and Triple Crown winner has scooped-up his fourth EPT High-Roller title in Berlin on Sunday. The final table of the tournament was no cakewalk with names like Viktor Blom, Martin Jacobson, David Peters, and Marvin Rettenamaier in the hunt, and heads-up play would prove to be even tougher as ElkY needed to best one of the game’s best in Chris Moorman to win the title.

Another WPT Main Event means another star-studded final table, as Joe Serock leads the six-handed final table for the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showdown.
