Monday Headlines: iSeries, Premier League and more
This past weekend may go down as Invitational Tournament Week in the annals of poker history, with both the inaugural iSeries Live event and the Party Poker Premier League taking place between Friday and Sunday. In addition to the invitational events that were taking place the PokerStars EPT announced they would be bringing back the €100k Champion of Champions Freeroll tournament at the upcoming EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo.
Here is a look at all of the happenings in the poker world over the Easter weekend:
EPT Champion of Champions tournament announced
For the second straight year the PokerStars EPT will be hosting a Champion of Champions freeroll at the EPT Grand Final. The tournament will be open to all former EPT Champions, just over 80 of them, and will award €100,00 worth of EPT Passport packages to the top finishers. Dempsey wins iSeries Live
James Dempsey defied the odds (he went off as a 9-1 underdog to win the iSeries Live event) to capture the inaugural iSeries crown, along with the winner take all $100,000 prize that was up for grabs. Here is our full report on “Flushy’s” victory at the iSeries.
Party Poker Premier League in full swing
The final table for the Party Poker Premier League is set after each of the two groups played four preliminary heats. Here is a look at the eight players who made the final table as well as the chip-stack they will begin the day with:

Lock Pro Kevin Vandersmissen wins Paddy Power Irish Open
The Paddy Power Irish Open is one of the longest running tournaments in the history of poker, and the 2012 running saw a huge turnout of 502 players including the likes of local players like Julian Thew and Andy Black, as well as superstars like Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth.
