Being the best at something usually means winning the title or the championship trophy. But that’s not applicable on the poker scene, as poker pro Daniel Dvoress is definitely up there with being one of the top poker pros in the world even though he has never won a single championship or event.

Hectic Travel Schedule Paying Great Dividends

Canadian pro Daniel Dvoress currently holds $6,009,302 in total live earnings, with more than $3.8 million of this coming from his wins in 2017. He is ranked 11^th in Canada’s all-time money list, and his best live cash prize is from the €100,000 Super High Roller at the PSC Monte Carlo in April. He finished in third place and cashed out with $908,595.

Dvoress revealed that this astounding $3,874,454 in live cashes did not come easy. This year, he spent most of his time traveling around the world, competing in different poker tournaments. If he were to aggregate and compute the time he spent on airplanes and airports this year, Dvoress estimates to be over two full weeks.

The long flights and transfers were all worth it for Dvoress and he has no complaints. This year alone, he was able to make seven 6-figure cashouts. He started early in January at the PokerStars Championship (PSC) Bahamas, earning $576,300 from finishing 4th place at the $100,000 Super High Roller event. In the same festival, he would earn another $125,900 after finishing in 8th place at the $50,000 High Roller.

In March, Dvoress flew to Central America for the PSC’s stop in Panama and came in second at the $50,000 Super High Roller, taking home $372,360. He then went on to play the PSC Monte Carlo and he had a great winning streak in terms of cashing out. He earned $108,998 by placing 7^th at the €25,000 High Roller event, $710,108 by placing 2^nd at the €50,000 High Roller. This was the tournament where Dvoress had his biggest cashout taking home $908,595.

In October, Dvoress flew to Macau to take part in the Asia Championship of Poker (ACOP). He finished 4th at the HK$800,000 Super High Roller and took home another $766,144.

Dvoress Will Continue To Play High-Stakes In 2018

There are some poker pros like Scott Blumstein, the 2017 WSOP Main Event winner who avoids playing high stake events. Dvoress loves high stakes action because he believes it is the one niche in poker that has continued to grow and improve each year. While these events are super competitive, the top poker pros in the world somehow end up winning and adding to their bankroll.

Many famous poker pros share Dvoress’ love for high-stakes events. Players such as Fedor Holz, Erik Seidel, Tom Marchese, Scott Seiver, and Brian Rast love have had major cashouts in the last few years playing $25,000+ buy-in events.

Dvoress says his game plan is to continue playing these high-roller events in 2018. He hasn’t planned his 2018 poker schedule but has confirmed that he will make an appearance at most of the major tournaments including the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) in January, PCA Barcelona in October and at the ACOP in Macau before the year ends.
