Poker pro Paul Wasicka wins WSOP Circuit event in Tunica
A week ago on another site, I wrote a column pointing out five poker players to watch in 2010, and one of those players was 2006 WSOP runner-up Paul Wasicka. And finally one of my predictions has come true!
Wasicka was able to capture the WSOP Circuit series championship in Tunica, winning close to $140,000 for his efforts. The $5,000 buy-in tournament attracted a total of 96 players consisting of mainly local pros and some big-name out-of-towners like Wasicka.
Wasicka went into the final day as the chip-leader, and outlasted a pretty stacked final table that included poker pros Matt Stout and Carter Phillips.
Wasicka can now add a WSOP Circuit series title to his resume which includes the 2006 WSOP runner-up, an NBC National Heads-Up Championship, and $7.7 million in career tournament winnings.
