After four days of action at the PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Campione Main Event the final table is now set, and it’s two well-known poker pros who are leading the final eight players, Fabrice Soulier and Olivier Busquet. Both men are looking for their first EPT title, as are the other six players at the EPT Campione final table –With the elimination of former EPT winner David Vamplew in 10th place the chance for the first ever repeat-winner on the EPT went out the window.

Busquet is considered one of the best online poker players in the history of the game, and has done pretty well since moving into the live poker arena, while Soulier is a longtime poker pro and considered one of the all-time best players from France.

Soulier and Busquet will be joined by a very strong contingent of players at the final table including Belgian Koen de Visscher, Italian Stefano Pucili (a well-known online player and former IPT San Remo winner), the Online PLO stud from Denmark Jannick Wrang, and a pair of online tournament pros in Hungarian Blazs Botond and Swede Robi Ylitalo. Joining the bevy of pro players at the final table is the lone amateur (perhaps semi-pro would be a better description) Mario Nagel from Germany, who has a SCOOP tournament win on his resume.

Here is a look at the chip counts the players will take into Saturday’s final table in Campione:

1. Fabrice Soulier – 3,480,000

2. Olivier Busquet – 3,011,000

3. Jannick Wrang – 2,882,000

4. Balazs Botond – 2,080,000

5. Koen De Visscher – 1,856,000

6. Stefano Puccilli – 1,450,000

7. Mario Nagel – 1,210,000

8. Robin Ylitalo – 1,153,000

With no real chip-leader, and nobody with an overly short-stack this could turn out to be one of the more exciting and strategic final tables in quite some time, especially with the two chip leaders being arguably the two best players at the final table.

The tournament attracted a solid field of 570 players across the two starting days in the Northern Italian city, generating a total prize-pool of over €2.7 million. 88 players managed to make the money in the tournament, and the winner of the event is in line to receive a €640,000 prize.

* 4th place: €157,000

* 5th place: €124,000

* 6th place: €92,000

* 7th place: €71,500

The final table will get underway at 2 PM local time, with the players in the middle of Level 24 on the format sheet: Blinds of 12,000/24,000 and a 3,000 chip ante.
