PokerStars EPT Tallinn Main Event down to 24 players
Although turnout for the 2011 PokerStars.net EPT Tallinn Main Event was far below the over 400 entrants that turned out for the inaugural 2010 event, the players that did make the trek to Estonia were some of the top poker players in Europe, and quite a few of them have managed to weave their way through three days of play and are now amongst the final 24 players battling for the title.
Amongst the players still vying for the title are online legend Sami “LarsLuzak” Kelopuro who is coming off a terrific 2011 WSOP and is currently sitting in 5th place on the leader-board; under-sung tournament pro Jani Sointula, currently in 3rd place on the leader-board; as well as Jeff Sarwer, Stuart Fox, and two-time WSOP bracelet winner Praz Bansi who is sitting on a short-stack heading into Day 4.
Here is a look at the top 10 chip counts heading into Day 4 of the EPT Tallinn Main Event:
1. Ronny Kaiser — 1,194,000
2. Grzegorz Cichocki — 867,000
3. Jani Sointula — 640,000
4. Johan van Til — 598,000
5. Sami Kelopuro –575,000
6. Vojtech Ruzicka — 518,500
7. Andrey Subbotin — 480,500
8. Michael Graydon — 455,000
9. Lauri Meidla — 402,000
10. Rolands Norietis — 362,500
Each remaining player is guaranteed at least a €7,500 payday, and the first real big money jump isn’t until 10th place when the prize-money goes up to €17,500 –even 11th place is only worth €12,000—so I would expect play to be fast and furious today as the remaining players try to position themselves for a run at the €275,000 first-prize.
