Spindler in control on Day 2 of EPT London

It’s not very often that a day 1 chip-leader continues to top the leader-board at the end of Day 2 in a major tournament, but this is precisely what Benny Spindler was able to accomplish at the 2011 Pokerstars EPT London Main Event. Spindler, the Day 1b chip-leader, was able to continue his successful run on Day 2 and ended the day with 410,000 chips, just ahead of Jamie Rosen who sits in second place with 400,000 chips.

Day 2 started with 417 players remaining out of the original 691 entrants, and by the end of the day a mere 180 players were left in the hunt for the coveted EPT title, not to mention the first-place prize-money of £750,000, or $1.1 million USD.

In addition to Spindler, there was plenty of big-name poker pros who managed to excel on Day 2 including Sebastian Blom (brother of Viktor Blom), Andrew Feldman, Roberto Romanello, 2010 BLUFF POY Sorel Mizzi, Triple Crown winner Jake Cody, Nacho Barbero, Matthias de Muleder, Sebastien Ruthenberg, Humberto Brenes, living legend Doyle Brunson, PKR Poker pro Scott Shelley, and Jason Mercier; all of whom have over 100k in chips heading into Day 3.

A little farther down the leader-board there are still some very tough customers lurking, any of whom is only a couple of big pots away from being in contention. Amongst this group are Kevin Vandersmissen, Bryn Kenney, David Williams, Ryan D’Angelo, Freddy Deeb, Jeff Sarwer, Tristan Wade, Todd Terry, Fatima Moreira de Melo, Toby lewis, Fabrice Soulier, Sam Stein, Anton Ionel, James Akenhead, Barney Boatman, Darren Elias, and Dan Kelly. *Unofficial chip counts from the European Poker Tour*
