Sunday Brief: WSOPE, WPT, WCOOP and LAPT in the news

It’s not too often outside of the World Series of Poker that this much tournament action is taking place at the same time, but this week seems to be the pinnacle of the tournament season. You have the World Series of Poker Europe Main Event, the Latin American Poker Tour Main Grand Final, the World Championship of Online Poker, and the World Poker Tour Borgata Poker Open all going on, and all making big headlines.

WSOPE Heads-Up Championship

In a strange twist the WSOPE £10k No Limit Holdem Heads-Up tourney was put on hold Thursday night with the final tied at 1-to-1. Both Gus Hansen and Jim Collopy both wanted to participate in the WSOPE Main Event, so they left the rubber-match of the best of three final unfinished until Sunday. Dwyte Pilgrim wins WPT title

The man in contention for the Card Player Magazine Player of the Year award is one of poker’s unsung stars, but all that changed this week when Pilgrim vested over 1,000 to win the WPT Borgata Poker Open. Read more about Pilgrim and the Borgata Poker Open

What else is going on? The WSOPE Main Event is underway, with Isildur1 off to fast start; the LAPT Grand Final is coming to a close; and Jason Mercier won a PokerStars WCOOP tournament.
