Last year the Big One for One Drop tournament put a stamp on Antonio Esfandiari’s legacy in the poker world, sending “The Magician” from the ranks of solid pros to the upper echelon of poker players. This year the One Drop High Roller may have launched another Hall of Fame career, as Anthony Gregg scored his largest tournament win, as well as nearly $5 million in prize-money.

The last year has been filled with success for Gregg, who is considered to be one of the best players in the game amongst his peers, and his win in the One Drop High Roller pretty much cements that sentiment. While most casual followers of the game would likely have trouble picking Gregg out of a lineup, his results over the years speak for themselves:

* 2nd place in the 2009 PCA Main Event for $1,700,000

* 6th place in the 2012 PCA Main Event for $364,000

* 3rd place in the 2012 EPT Grand Final Super High Roller for $109,317

* 4th place at the 2012 WSOP in Event #28, the $2,500 NLHE 4-Max for $114,711

* 1st place in the 2012 WPT Parx Poker Open Main Event for $416,217

* 2nd place in the 2013 EPT Grand Final $25k High Roller for $996,551

* 1st place in the One Drop High Roller for $4,830,619

In his five-year live poker career Gregg has accumulated over $8.3 million in career tournament earnings.

The fourth day of the One Drop tournament (which was added when Day 3 ran long) started with just four players remaining, including last year’s Big One for One Drop Champion Antonio Esfandiari, who was joined by businessman and poker enthusiast Bill Perkins, as well as two of the games top young players in Chris Klodnicki and Gregg.

Antonio was the first player eliminated, followed by Perkins, which left a matchup of the two young guns playing for the title, as well as close to $8 million total. In the end, with the stack-to-blind ratio putting pressure on all of the players, it was Gregg who would come out on top.
