It was a very busy week on the tournament trail –and the coming weeks look just as jam-packed. So without any further delay here is a look at some of the highlights from around the world of tournament poker that you may have overlooked.

PokerStars LAPT Grand Final

The fact that the Latin American Poker Tour Grand Final didn’t get the amount of coverage it deserved shows just how busy the past week has been on the tournament trail. Not only was this a major poker tournament, but Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu made the final table. Unfortunately Kid Poker bowed out in 6th place at the final table, leaving the title for Daniele Nestola.

No, this wasn’t the final table of an invitational poker tournament, or the Top 10 on the Player of the Year leader-board, this was the final table of the $5,100 NLHE preliminary tournament at the 2012 LA Poker Classic this past week! The latest Heartland Poker tour Main Event is in the books, and once again the winner of an HPT Main Event walked away with over $100,000 thanks to the 277 players who registered for the tournament –bringing the total prize-pool to an impressive $408,450.

European Masters of Poker Prague €1,000 buy-in Main Event

Last week also saw the European Masters of Poker invade the Czech Capitol of Prague, where 224 players registered for the €1,000 buy-in Main Event. The total prize-pool eclipsed the €200k mark, topping off at €223,612.
