WPT Introduces Bobby Baldwin Classic

The WPT decided to introduce a new event known as the Bobby Baldwin Classic. Bobby Baldwin was one of the top poker pros during his time and a member of the prestigious Poker Hall of Fame. He won four WPT bracelets and cashed out more than $2 million in his professional career, which was a huge sum of money back in his day. His biggest achievement on the poker circuit was when he became the World Series of Poker Main Event champion back in 1978.

Once he finished playing professional poker, Baldwin continued his association with the poker industry. He took on the role of a top executive at the Golden Nugget casino for a few years before moving onto fill top management positions at the Bellagio and The Mirage. He currently works at the Aria Resort & Casino as its president and CEO.

The Bobby Baldwin Classic honors his achievements. This new WPT event also provides players with the final chance to win a spot for the Tournament of Champions. It is slated to run from May 20 to 23 and has a buy-in of $10,000. The final table of this event will also be streamed on the PokerGO app.

The highlight of the Tournament of Champions will be the Main Event. It is scheduled to begin on May 24, a day after the Bobby Baldwin Classic. This main event is only open to current and past Main Tour winners. All of the current season champions are automatically entered. Winners from previous seasons can enter, but they will need to pay $15,000 as an entry fee. To find out more information about the Tournament of Champions, please visit the WPT website.
