Poker headlines: Isildur leaves Stars, Gregg wins, and more
Overall it was a pretty slow in the world of poker, but there were still plenty of interesting side-stories unraveling. Here is a look at some of the bigger moments and more interesting stories over the past week or so.
Isildur1 and PokerStars call it a day
It’s the end of an era, so to speak, as Viktor “isildur1” Blom and PokerStars have decided to end their relationship, cutting the 21 year-old poker prodigy free. The rumors about the split have Isildur1 landing at Full Tilt Poker when the site is relaunched by PokerStars, or possibly him growing tired of the interviews and obligations that come with being one of the primary faces of the site.

Anthony Gregg finally wins
Anthony Gregg has been one of those poker players who has racked-up a ton of lifetime winnings in the poker world (most notably a 2nd place finish at the 2009 PCA and a 6th place finish this past year at the same tournament), but simply couldn’t breakthrough and win that major tournament that would propel him to the forefront of the poker world. This is no longer the case as Gregg captured the World Poker Tour Parx Open Poker Classic this past week, adding over $400k to his career tournament earnings and finally getting his first live tournament win.

The DOJ is hiring
It’s a very strange day indeed when the Department of Justice posts a Help Wanted ad, looking for a third-party payment processor to handle the repayment of Full Tilt poker funds to their aggrieved players in the US.
Interested in the job? You have until the end of August to apply at the justice.gov website. Or you can read more about it here: https://pokernewsboy.com/online-poker-news/speculation-regarding-full-tilt-poker-payments-rampant/12904
